Velvet + Metallics: Things I Want
20.9.16
With Autumn coming our way, some of my fave cold-weather trends have crept back in. Namely, velvet and metallics. There are some seriously fab pieces around at my favourite spots (New Look are killing it right now! As are ASOS... as ever... and Misguided).
I am all over a good metallic. Glitter or shiny fabrics, I'm there (in moderation, not planning to look like the International Space Station). Silver is my thing right now, so I snapped up these silver flared heel boots as soon as I saw them at New Look. I spotted this amazing little silver real leather rucksack too, which I am literally in love with. But managed to avoid adding it to my basket somehow!
In aid of actually looking slightly space-y, I'm also loving this space cadet sequin jumper from ASOS. the slogan is literally just like the House of Holland sweater that would set you back a huge £150. I'm down with saving £120 odd quid. But admittedly if I had the cash, I'd be all over that Holland bad boy.
Onto velvet. I've had a bit of a love hate relationship with velvet. Anyone in their 20s (or 30s?) probably remembers the wonder of velour tracksuits back in the day *shudders*. However, I've got over velvet induced sickness by buying some velvet boots a few months back when they were on sale and now I'm well into it. The simple and autumnal vibe of these ASOS velvet trainers is perfect for the current weather. Love a good platform, being relatively short!
Branching out a bit in the realms of velvet to this sassy pink Misguided bomber. This baby looks super snug and I love that it's so bold. Paired with metallic accessories, this would be incredible. And finally, a velvet bralet from New Look. I can imagine this being perfect under a loose blouse, or even a fine knit jumper. Not quite ready to venture into velvet knickers yet though...
Let me know what you're loving!
